Rashômon - 1950

I used to download the top 10 or 20 movies that I thought would appeal to me by reading the year end reviews, but that hasn't happened since 2018 so I thought I'd do a catch up and I can see part of the problem. There's so much superhero globohomo dross these days. I don't watch movies for entertainment, I'm looking for films that have an impact on me. Change the way I think.

Rashomon didn't hit the spot. It's terrific photography and pared down to the minimum of actors but they weren't collectively credible. A Samurai losing a sword fight to a bandit who can barely afford to wear rags? There's quiet a few continuity errors, though these are concealed with the 4 different accounts of the narrative, but there's some honkers in there.

I'd probably watch it in a cinema if I had a couple of hours to spare but unlike everyone else in the universe the film is a bit of turkey for me.

Multi Ethnic Southampton - Reasons To Be Cheerful (Part II)

I was never a big fan of Southampton growing up. It was just grey after living in Deutschland and it wasn't very friendly either.

After the Wirtschaftwunder (Economic Miracle) of living in Germany, a synthetic creation much as British food-stamps were to last long after the war years..... if you get my drift.

Japan and Germany were hit hardest so it's karmically in the controllers favour to rebuild them quickest, while Great Britain was reduced to years of poverty and decline, for essentially provoking war (for those who have read the focus group papers.)

However, my return to Southampton in 2017 has been a renaissance experience for this port city, that was so gritty growing up in the 80s. It's now one of my favourite places and I feel an ease in this city that I've rarely experienced elsewhere.

That is to say, after much exploring and history research, I know this place and because there have been so many changes, it strikes me somewhat as more of a journey partner than a destination. The much maligned Southampton City Council have done a very competent job of upgrading the city and marina areas.

I talked in the last post (Part I), about the commitment from the City council to electric scooters which is easily the most transformative step a city can make for unleashing the freedom of travelling electrically on widely available racks of scooters, distributed around the city and not just in the centre.

In addition, Southampton has attracted a strong and vibrant ethnic mix of immigrants. I'm lucky where I live. St Mary (please note that's singular and an uncountable noun) is both right on the hotspot of that cultural diversity including a strong Hong Kong contingent, Portuguese, Turkish, Somalian, Romanian and on and on it goes, all equally identifiable by their clothes and appearance and adjacent to some awesome greenery.

I'm slap bang in the middle of one of the most interesting neighbourhoods in the city, but also I'm right next to the public parks, of which Southampton has some of the best in the country. It's probably the most consistently relaxing place I can think of other than living on a tropical beach in Jomtien or a particular pub I used to frequent in Freemantle, which irrespective of how tough a day I'd had was a gravity-free experience entering... through the doors and being transported to an island of relaxation, leaving the outside world behind.

I want to elaborate about ethnic and cultural diversity though.

I'm very aware of the long term plans for humanity. They are laid out in the winner of the first Charlemagne prize (that Churchill won twice) Count Couldenhove Kalergi.

The most racist people I know are invariably indoctrinated politically, and who can't wait for a regimented mullato (I love coffee-coloured skin) species (Kalergi's words not mine) with fewer languages, one religion; genderless yet stunning and brave, and also the creation of an insect worker... as adumbrated in Huxley's brave new world; men breast feeding babies, lesbians having to accept male penis and so forth is a reality, not wild histrionics.

... and before you invoke the rainbow. It belongs to everyone, including heterosexuals, the working classes, the upper classes, the pious, uncouth, male or female, Asian or not. The rainbow was bestowed on all of us not a radical and toxically empowered clique who are waay more powerful and rewarded in kind, than most have yet to be "caught-on-to", but some, most certainly will if sentient of change.

You see what makes for attractive racial diversity are the differences not the uniformity of the human genome. When I go to Japan, I don't want to see Chinese people, I want to be able to distinguish between the Asian races (for example) which is not as hard as it seems to people who haven't travelled widely in that neck of the woods. There was a time in Bangkok where we could tell which towns the females (they were always females) came from. Nakhon Si Thammarat to Songkhla, Pitsanulouk to Udon Thani. It's one of the most fun party tricks to play in the red light districts of go go bars and neon.

What the social engineers and multi generational planners want and are now destroying with cancel culture and synthetic racism through BLM is the real diversity of the human story which of course from time to time has been nothing to boast about, particularly when thinking of Empire and the stooges that now endorse the CIA running for Congress, and SIS transgender credentials while ignoring the heinous behaviour they partake in. Email me if you have a strong stomach and the courage of your convictions to contest me. I can't post here.

Back to beauty and happiness though. Recently I came across a beguiling voice in podcasts that I found magnetic and also interested in some of the ideas I'm engaged with and writing about here. We were the same age (52) and had some crossover in our lives as we both lived in Belsize Park, London back in the day at around the same period, and we also both worked in the media business. I as an advertising prostitute and he as a Channel 4 honcho. I googled his name and discovered that he had died only days ago. The last time that happened to me was when I reading Marlon Brando's biography in Bangkok where I learned that he too had croaked. It's quite a poignant feeling when immersing ourselves in famous lives.

Well Jonathan Myles Lea has passed too, and anyone with an ounce of sense can see that what he fought for was beauty and the aesthetic, instead of the rancid blue haired, septum pierced obesity with tattoos who think anything vagina shaped is art.

They are brainwashed, and they have been given license to run the most powerful institutions in the UK from the Foreign Office to Stonewall and Terrence Higgins Trust. They are women haters and insist any Lesbian who refuses to consider a trans relationship is a TERF, a trans exclusionary radical feminist. Well I tell you something blue haired brigade cheerleaders. You too will have to accept and respect the cock (and tame the cunt) when your time comes. This has been, and always will be about male violence. Don't think a wearing a dress is going changes the insides of misogyny.

Anyway, I've clearly wrapped two posts together. One about truth and beauty, and the other about a world which is a threat to that and no amount of running away from the bad news can change it.

I wouldn't want to live in very big cities in the coming years. The poor will be ransacking the not so poor.

I've got a very good feeling Southampton is going to be in better shape, and that makes me cheerful.

Reasons To Be Cheerful (1, 2, 3)

I know we're in the cross hairs of a medieval-pandemic with bodies piled so high the putrefaction is awkward to avoid, but there are plenny-of-things that are rewarding and make me and many others happy.

The first, is that my long-held dream since Beijing, of municipal services, transport-electrification of inner cities is happening in my home city of Southampton. You have no idea how happy it makes of me to see an ever expanding cross-section of demographics, adopt the two wheel electric scooter instead of the rotten and decaying stench of 5+ passenger vehicles occupying valuable road real-estate while belching fossils *winky*

Some days when I'm zipping about town on my ridiculously small electric bike, weaving in and out of the scooters, or just just plain hanging on to their slip-stream, I feel like those memories of life in Beijing with electric-bike stories have enabled some kind of manifestation of dream-wishes-come-true, into real life.

I feel blessed, lucky and happy. It really is a dream come true.

Toxic Prurience

Freer & Blue in Cambodia

It's been a few years now so I don't mind publishing these private emails as the lesson still applies today for those with ears to hear, and eyes to see.

My good friend Peter Doran in Bangkok was a self-made multi-millionaire. He was striking to look at, tough as hell and stricken with the most aggressive bouts of violent depression.

He was a dangerous man to be around, but he was also one of the most generous, funny and clever people I ever met. I considered him to be an older brother, but from time to time it came at great expense.

I recall once he was pissed off with his brother Johnnie who had left for New York and decided to stitch him up by finding out some hotel details of a client/friend who was staying at The Conrad in Bangkok. Earlier that day he had tried to overdose and I was starting my new job as Planning Director at Dentsu Bangkok. It was literally my first day and so I could only help by calling another friend (Frank Duvi) to go check up on Pete or Blue as we called him.

As there was no answer from his bedroom, I instructed Frank to break down the door, a job he was capable of as a former French foreign legionnaire and Muay Thai boxer.

Anyway, after work, I headed over to Blue's and that's when he decided to take me for a drink down The Conrad in the Diplomat bar, a place I frequented regularly, he pulled out a scrap of paper with the room number of his brother's friend, and proceeded to order a 1500 pounds sterling bottle of champagne on that rooms tab.

I was frozen with fear, as it was clear Blue was in a mess from his earlier suicide attempt, and he didn't look particularly credible with a scrap of paper reading the room number out to the barwoman. Anyway, she took the order and delivered the champagne in an ice bucket wrapped in immaculate white napkins. We drank it and then we left to head over to Patpong GoGo bars. I only breathed a sigh of relief when we got in the cab. My next visit to that bar was very uncomfortable, as the kindly barwoman recognised me, but didn't say anything. It was not my order but I was complicit.

In any case the reason I am bringing up Blue is that he had access to a mutual friend's email account and he had made a habit of reading all his private emails on a regular basis for a couple of years. That is until, as you can see above, he forwarded me an email one day, thinking I'd understand it was not him but being forwarded, but instead I blew his cover by responding to our mutual friend as if the email was meant for me.

Blue was very angry with me, our friend Tim Ramos the owner of the email account who was a multi-millionaire sex-addict retiree from Hawaii was mad at me, thinking I'd colluded with Blue although I had done nothing but respond to that forwarded email which was quite insulting and so my reply was caustic, to say the least.

Anyway, the purpose of this post is to share that when the dust had settled, Blue admitted that having access to Tim's email had been corrosive and had fed an obsession that had become toxic to him in the end, as any addicted snooper and peeping tom will reveal when asking how and why their prurience had affected them.

I live a fairly open life and try not to have any secrets, because I know that it's your secrets that kill you in the end.

I eat, shit, fuck, smoke, fart and wank like the old bachelor I am who prefers not to copulate with ladies just for the sex, as I feel it's damaging to be in a fake relationship, (although I'm always on the lookout for someone special). Lady luck is always a possibility.

I have found that those who obsess over me, are always the same, and have recurring observable traits.

Insanely jealous, insecure and inveterate liars who have no grasp that some of us don't lie for convenience.

Snoopers are the meconium of the universe, and that applies to Pete's email 'hacking' and to anyone else who lives vicariously.

Get a life.

Mine is already taken.

Luc Besson | Lucy

Lucy is very interesting. It's punctuated with quack science like Darwin's Origin of the species (partially usable but just one chapter) and gravity (bring me a graviton). Other than that it seems to drop a lot of occult knowledge such as infinity being the only reference/narrative framework and the declaration "we never die", during the Paris chase scene.

Nice to see Old Boy's Choi Min-Sik in it and Syriana's Amr Waked.

It's got lots of holes in it to cover American Studio Execs who don't have much experience of the world but Scarlett Johansson is terrific. Such a shame she supports the Anti Semitic occupation of Palestine.

I have a Luc Besson story in Japan to share if anyone asks me one to one.

Ken O'Keefe Is A Con Artist

Ken O'Keefe has been a compelling speaker for Palestine but it's now clear he's a con artist who uses this cause and other people's suffering to line his own pocket.

I never paid much attention to his World Citizen ideas but it's an idea he used to raise funds to pay for his Dominican land project where he and his new Filipino babe, Sophia will live in paradise, safe from the people who sent him money for his pyramid scheme as there's no extradition treaty with any country there. If I was her though I'd go for the record deal from the notoriety.

Good luck to him and I hope those who constantly seek leadership figures in their lives have learned a lesson about giving cash to anyone who appears on Television which in this case is Press TV and Russia Today. Many are on Facebook right now standing in solidarity with him when it's clear they haven't even done the basic task of reading his version of events (deranged) and Max Igan's version who himself has troubling questions to answer given the time it took to step-up.

I'm annoyed because the information I needed to know this has been circulating on the net since 2011 and I hadn't come across it, which is unusual for me as it's well known that I'm one of the handful of people to have read the internet in its entirety twice or maybe three times.

While researching, corroborating and fact checking the information and making sure this post is accurate I came across more troubling testimony about other well known figures, some of whom I know personally.

More on that later.

Update: Ken is interviewed by the world's thickest "presenter" Richie Allen who is notorious for spending more time on saying what he's going to say, than actually saying it. Ken is clearly bullshitting and does a formidable job of maintaining the pretense that he wants to save the world with your donations.

Douglas Dietrich - Revelatory History - Part Two

Douglas Dietrich begins by reminding us that NASA is pure welfare spending for old engineers to retire and not even a coherent story as to why we went to the moon but never set up a scientific base station there (Hint: The moon landing was a Hollywood special, it happened but what we saw was stage directed).

There's some fabulous real history told here of field energy weapons, Tesla and Aum Shinrikyo. Nobody else is telling this stuff. It's top notch whistle blowing. The interviewer isn't very bright, is mind controlled by religion and not particularly aware of the history of the world other than the spoon fed stuff, but he's not too annoying.

Roswell Rationalised - John Keel On Japanese Fugo Balloons

Most people are unfamiliar that the Hiroshima and Nagasaki atomic bombs didn't actually end the war. That was signed officially in 1951 with the Treaty of San Francisco and came into force in 1952.

With this in mind the above video provides further evidence that Douglas Dietrich is correct that not only was the Roswell UFO a Japanse Fugo balloon as pictured above but that the United States sued for peace with Japan rather than weather a biological warfare attack from thirty thousand of these floating dirigibles with the jet stream over U.S. air space. This also supports his claim that Stan Deyo is a disinformation agent on the Roswell Incident.

Clif High - Onegai Shimasu お願いしま (With Respect Let Us Begin)

"Onegai shimasuお願いしま  is a hard phrase to directly translate to English. The second part "shimasu" is basically the verb "suru" which means "to do" conjugated into the present tense. "Onegai" comes from the verb "negau" which literally means "to pray to (something)" or "to wish for (something)." The "O" at the beginning is the "honorific O" that makes the phrase more "honoring." Of course, we would never say that particular phrase without it, but that's what it is. (Don't confuse this "O" with the "O" in O-sensei. The one in O-sensei is actually "Oo" meaning "big" or "great.")

In Japanese culture, we use "onegai shimasu" in many different situations. The basic connotation is the feeling of exchanging "good will" towards the "future" of the two meeting parties. Hence, it's sometimes kind of like saying "I'm hoping that our relationship holds good things in the future." We use this during New Year's celebration by saying "kotoshi mo yoroshiku onegai shimasu" which transliterated (to the best of my abilities) means "this year also good tidings I pray I do." You get the gist.

Another connotation is "please" as in, "please let me train with you." It's an entreaty often used in asking the other person to teach you, and that you are ready to accept the other person's teaching.

If you're feeling really, really humble, you can say "onegai itashimasu" which uses "kenjyougo" or the "humble" form of the verb. This places you lower on the hierarchy than the person to whom you're speaking (unless they too use the same humbling form -- in which case, I think it all comes down to stuff like who can put their nose closer to the ground when bowing or something).

To pronounce this, I'd transcribe it as:

o ne gai shi ma su.
(If you want to get technical about it, the last "su" is a stop-fricative rather than a fricative-vowel combination, so it _is_ pronounced like the ending "s" in "gas" moreso than the long "su" sound in the name "Sue.")

Douglas Dietrich - How Warped Is The History Of Victors?

Update: The Embed isn't working. Download file here.

Only Douglas Dietrich can get away with compellingly describing how the United States lost the Second World War that it started. Unfortunately his interviewer (who has ugly racist perspectives) isn't that bright and fails to keep up with Mr Dietrich's signature rapid machine-gun fire speed but it's still the freshest history lessons on the net.

Douglas Dietrich was a D.O.D. (Department of Defense) Research Librarian for almost a decade, responsible for incinerating highly classified materials on critical historical topics such as Pearl Harbor, Roswell, Viêt-Nam, and the different ethnic holocausts; as well as documents exposing the reality behind vampires, zombies, Soviet psychic warfare, and other occult phenomena.

Volumes of notes on Tesla, H.P. Lovecraft, L. Ron Hubbard, the Vatican and United Nations were destroyed, along with reams of reports detailing everything from military/intelligence-sponsored drug-smuggling operations to experimental mind-control programs. Records plundered from both Allied and enemy states articulated the hidden objectives of modern mass-movements from Nazism,  to Zionism. His Post was at El Presidio Real de San Francisco's Western Defense Command Centre which was seething with Satanism, child abuse, and controversial medical experimentation.

His background in military reference and his experiences in mercenary/security enforcement exposed him to startling insights into geopolitics, the current demographic apocalypse, and the medical-industrial complex as well as weapons of Mass-Deception unleashed generations ago by increasingly self-deluded American élites that have since warped the U.S. electorate's perception of reality.

Update: Here's a Coast To Coast Interview:

Tampopo タンポポ

I can feel a little Japanese film season blending in with my 'classics I've managed to miss' period I'm going through. I was recommended Tampopo by Tim over at Cultural Snow. It's almost a Japanese slapstick movie with lots of comedic and random story digressions that are  irrelevant to the central plot while not harming the overall movie. It's very funny in places and rarely fails to charm.

Above I've posted one of the more drole pieces, and below is the oyster catcher scene which had me choking on my Sriracha sauce.  It is for my money barely legal Japanese Adult Video (JAV) in the making as he eats the oyster from her hand (I'm sure there's no metaphor intended).

She's either eight or eighteen depending  on the camera angle. The Japanese are outrageous that way. Once I had an unpleasant Japanese boss who allowed me to send an email from his notebook in Tokyo as my adaptor wasn't working. As I typed in a URL there was all sorts of school girl stuff in the drop down list. So when he fired me after a magnificent meeting in Shanghai where I was on shamefully top form,  I sent him an email saying I was quite broad minded but the advertising community might have a few problems with this kind of content. It was naughty of me because I didn't know all this school girl stuff is pretty normal for lots of Japanese men but blimey they push it to the edge don't they?

Fukushima

The absence of media coverage over Fukushima prefecture nuclear power station disasters has been irritating me, but I didn't want to get bogged down in reports and scientific opinions. This is five minutes of your time to get a feel for what's going on. It's a lot more restrained than if this happened elsewhere in the world though the unspoken bureaucratic strategic response isn't hard to decipher at all.

Yasujiro Ozu - Late Spring

I purposefully chose dialogue incongruous with the cinematography above because that's a feeling I often get with Ozu's movies, or doing business with the Japanese. Ozu's films are tender pieces and sensitive experiences to watch. They're atypical of my taste but despite the slow paced, violin laced narrative there's a lot to be learned about Japanese life from them.

Historically they're set in post war Japan which though not mentioned obtusely has cinematic gestures now and again. There's the collision of old and new society, the ease with drinking tea on the floor or eating cake at the table. It was a country in swift transition and one that did a tremendous job of coming back from the abyss despite the unambiguous victory and immediate attempts of cultural colonisation by the U.S army.

Even today not many Americans know that Pearl Harbour was provoked and set up to bring the U.S. into the war without being seen to precipitate the action. There's much about the Japanese that can be frustrating but they've managed to keep their essence as a culture in spite of ultimately being on the recipient end of the only atomic attacks any country has received. They're an unusually hermetically sealed race in many respects with most Japanese having no contact with outside cultures apart from vacations. The rest of the year it's pure or 99% Japanese contact especially outside Tokyo.

Ozu shoots his movies at ground floor level as if sitting on a tatami mat. The camera is fixed and rarely pans with typically long scenes of dialogue interspersed with silence. The father daughter relationship is revisited in this film from the previous movie Tokyo Story in which Norika's mother passes away after the family vacation. It's a strange kind of framework with old and new world's merging, and in this movie a tension over each party wishing to do the best for each other when in fact they are both happier with each other. When I listen to Noriko talk, I'd suggest his daughter is uninterested in men and likely more interested in women but unable to explore or live her sexual preference. This makes the movie even more melancholic but it's well choreographed punctuated-misery in that stoic Japanese and honourable way. It's about sacrifice I guess.

When I watch Ozu movies I see hundreds of centuries including one from the future condensed into a couple of hours. The tradition, the healing of post war Japan, the clash of traditional attire with the Westernisation of dress, the hints at Japanese futurism and a pragmatism mixed with respect for delicate but pointed ways of doing everything from formal introductions to stating one's Saki limit in advance. They make me sad and they make me admire the Japanese at the same time. I think the world may have been given a more elegant kind of brutality to live in had the atom not been split and the vulgarity of overwhelming fire power dominated the rest of the century. I think nature would have been respected so much more, and that corporatism wouldn't be the unmuzzled rabid dog it is today. I doubt the Chinese would agree with me but then Communism was an experiment they suffered under considerably more than the rape of Nanking and nobody talks about that too much in the People's Republic.

The Jesuits Influence In The Far East

Well worth watching for Asia watchers wishing to know how the venal Vatican targeted the Far East with a view to playing out their interest here. I've always wondered about the story of King Rama VIII and somehow I see the hallmark influence of the Jesuits from many different sides. Lots of Thailand (particularly Phuket), China and Japanese action here. Lots of unconnected dots suddenly snap tight.
